The company DATmoLUX a.s. ensures the pre-construction condition survey of the property of public lighting. For this activity, it utilises the GIS module of its own SW DATMO PLS software. As opposed to other systems that are based mainly on the geodetic focusing of points and some descriptive part on these points, our software is specifically developed for the needs of public lighting and the associated cable networks. Particularly in larger agglomerations, the cable networks are a ‘living’ organism, which can be interchanged in the context of maintenance. The GIS module thus registers not only all PLS’s, but also disconnecting cabinets or separation points. Furthermore, it also contains elements directly unrelated to public lighting, such as billboards on columns or stand-alone illuminated panels connected to the public lighting network.
The pre-construction condition survey is carried out on the client’s SW DATMO PLS mobile system. We proceed through each cable output of the PLS and it passes through all the elements on the cable, even with all diversions. Each element has the technical parameters described and is accompanied by photo-documentation. If knowledge on the historical laying of the cable is available, it can be led in such a way that it distinguishes itself from parts which have been historically laid differently. This can be used when deciding whether to only repair or to replace the cable entirely in the event of a fault.
